What is
Botox?
Botox® (onabotulinumtoxinA) is FDA approved for cosmetic use. It is used to treat what is called “muscle-driven” lines which are, frown lines (between your eyes), forehead lines, and crow’s feet. By injecting a small amount into the targeted muscles of these specific areas, the line lines are diminished, yet the face remains animated and natural looking.
What are the
Effects of Botox
Botox® works slowly, showing its full effect over 7-10 days, and patients can expect results to last for approximately 4 months. You will notice the effect also wear off slowly over the 4-month period, as the lines become once again visible; it will be time for your next follow-up treatment. Noting individual results may vary slightly.
Am I a Good
Candidate for Botox Injections?
If you are 18 years old or older, you may be an ideal candidate for Botox treatments. Since Botox is not ideal for all types of wrinkles, you have to have dynamic wrinkles to be treated with this cosmetic procedure. You have to be in good overall health without neurological conditions that could increase your risk of complications. Pregnant and nursing women are also discouraged from getting Botox injections.

In order to determine if you are a good candidate for Botox injections, a physical examination will be performed. A review of your medical history, including current medications and existing conditions, will be conducted. Discuss your cosmetic goals and expectations, as these will be seriously considered when developing your personalized treatment plan. Photographs may also be taken for before-and-after comparison.
How much does
Botox Cost?
The cost of Botox cosmetic treatment varies from patient to patient depending on their specific needs. A few factors we take into consideration are the amount of correction needed to achieve the desired results, the number of areas to be treated, and the amount of Botox used to achieve them.
How to
Prepare for Botox
In preparation for your treatment, you will be asked to abstain from the use of aspirin products for 10 days prior to your treatment. After the treatment, you will be instructed not to rub or touch the treated area, abstain from vigorous exercise, and not lie flat for 4 hours.
The
Procedure
The Botox procedure is minimally invasive and does not involve general anesthesia or incisions. Injection sites will be marked for precise administration. Multiple injections will be delivered to the target areas until the desired results are achieved. The entire process can last 20 minutes or less, depending on the number of injections and treated areas.

Aftercare
There is no downtime or recovery period needed after your Botox injection procedure. You may return to your normal routines afterwards. Avoid rubbing or massaging the treated areas to prevent spread of the toxin to other areas.
