What is a Facelift or Rhytidectomy?
A Facelift or Rhytidectomy is a type of plastic surgery that is designed
improve the appearance of the face by removing excess skin and tightening the
muscles in the face.
The facelift is performed on individuals who have noticed increased sagging of the skin or drooping of the muscles of the face.
Age varies as to when an individual may require this procedure. Dr. Felice has performed the
facelifts on people from age 39 to 80. His
personal feeling about the facelift is that it should be performed to create a
very natural, rejuvenated look which should never reveal a "surgical"
or "pulled" appearance.
Many times a full facelift is not necessary; a regional
facelift or mid facelift may be all that is needed to rejuvenate the face.
